Project Manager

Responsibilities

  • Prepares project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract documents.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish project goals and objectives.
  • Leads and directs the work of others assigned to and/or involved in the project.
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority.
  • Procures and manages all project buyouts and directs and coordinates activities of project personnel and vendors to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Prepares project reports for management, client or others.
  • Visits job sites to measure current projects prior to ordering materials.
  • Works with other Lake Shore Glass project managers on any technical issues
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction engineering or related field or prior industry experience
  • Excellent organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Ability to problem solve and provide recommendations and solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Bluebeam and AutoCAD experience a plus. OSHA 30 certification.

PROJECT ENGINEER

Responsibilities

Office:

  • Assist in the submittal processes as assigned
  • Prepare, submit, distribute to GC and applicable GSI suppliers and subcontractors
  • Perform necessary take-offs; Develop and issue RFQ’s and PO’s; Verify / check order acknowledgements Diligence in reviewing the work of others, whether in project management or estimating
  • Verification and checking of metal orders / cut lists and glass orders
  • Can effectively communicate with contractors, architects, and vendors
  • Interact with internal and external resources to develop trade specific knowledge. Includes studying and understanding trade specific documents – i.e. shop drawings, specifications, industry publications

Shop:

  • Progress Reporting – Weekly fabrication and assembly progress tracking
  • Deliveries – Schedule, set-up and manage internal and external; inspect / verify external
  • Shop Requests – Process / procure necessary items and follow through

Field:

  • Progress Reporting – Weekly installation progress tracking and progress photos
  • Deliveries – Schedule, set-up and manage internal and external; inspect / verify external
  • Field Requests – Process / procure necessary items and follow through
  • Occasional participation in weekly GC foreman / coordination meeting
  • Participation in field conflict issues / resolution

Shop Fabricator

Responsibilities

  • Complete production plans by scheduling & assigning personnel
  • Communication and cooperation in a team setting
  • Detail oriented, able to precisely go through inventories
  • Ability to read blueprints or learn how to read blueprints
  • Loading & unloading of all types of trucks
  • Ensure shop area is clean, organized and up to OSHA standards.
  • Cleaning up as required Willing to learn and grow

Qualifications

  • Shipping & receiving experience preferred
  • Familiar with use and capabilities of power tools
  • Must pass background check and drug test
  • Alert, focused and detail-oriented
  • Ability to lift to 70+ lbs. at one time
  • Disciplined, dependable and resourceful
  • Works well independently & in TEAM environment
  • Strong verbal communicator Forklift experience a plus
